Schools Business Professional

Level 4

SBPs provide a function that is specific to schools in managing and administering the financial, site, and support services within the school context. They carry out the financial and business decisions made by the leadership teams of the schools, giving them crucial support.

SBPs may operate in any educational phase (primary, secondary, special), as well as in a variety of educational settings, including federations, single academy trusts, multi academy trusts (MATs), and local authority maintained schools. As a result, they can work in a variety of contexts and report to a variety of personnel, such as the principal or the school business director (SBD). SBPs play a variety of functions within this framework, which shapes their day-to-day activities and creates a uniform role for them in schools.
